I was a bit unsure when I first arrived at St Luke's - and then Killerton.
On arrival I was shown around the House and, as it became clear later, it was the usual practice to be taken to the bar! My first clear memory of Steve Hatton - on my first day at Killerton - was a broad grin as he pulled a pint and placed it on the bar in front of me. I knew I was at home that day.
Towards the end of your time at Killerton, I walked on the roof of your car in the early hours of the morning - in some state or the other. I admitted this to you in broad daylight the following day. You saw the dinks in the car, threatened to hit me, then grinned and laughed and forgave me because I'd been drunk.
I'd have been very cross if it had been my car, and might have freaked at some pillock who'd done that to my car.
Steve Hatton never saw any Killertonian as a pillock.
