Killerton Cricket
The cricket match with Broadclyst CC planned for the 20th June will go ahead.
Despite aged bodies, joints and Covid taking their toll on the Killerton squad John Davis and John Morgan have gathered a squad of players now vying for places in the Killerton First eleven
If you still wish to be considered for a place in the squad then do please let the selectors know asap:
John Morgan -
John Davis -
The arrangements for the weekend are little less prescriptive than previous years.
As mentioned in earlier emails, some of us are planning to arrive in Exeter on the Saturday, staying at the Premier Inn for two nights.
We will probably arrange to meet up for a meal in the locality on the Saturday evening.
Sunday morning we will probably take a trip to Killerton Gardens – obviously at the moment we don’t know what the arrangements are likely to be, but we are guessing that a walk around the gardens will be possible. Further details as we get closer to the time and as more detail of restrictions become available.
Sunday afternoon, and cricket kicks off at 2pm through to around 6
Taff has been in touch with Broadclyst. They are following the guidelines that include:
no changing facilities
no bar
no tea.
So, team members be prepared to change in your car. Spectators, please bring chairs and sandwiches.
Currently our squad includes:
* Umpire: Derek Barnard
* Dai plus two sons
* JB plus two son-in-laws
* Lukey
* Ian Godwin/Taff
* Bob Ford
* John Morgan
* Dave Halford
* Tom Healy's grandson
* Dave Furlong
All this is subject to change at the will of BJ - but we will confirm arrangements after the 17th May.
