The Friday evening found us in the Black Horse where a few pints were imbibed and lots of introductions and chats were carried out - and eventually food was also consumed.

The Honiton Inn

One sad point to note, the Honiton Inn, a regular watering hole on theway to the bank (or at least, a watering hole on te way back from the bank) is now boarded up!

Saturday morning and Denise was once again our most amiable host. She explained the changes that have occurred at Killerton since our last visit and gave us even more background to Sir Richard and Lady Anne.

A tour of the house, for some the first time they've been there in over 40 years!

A cup of tea in the bar and a brief walk in the sunshine in the gardens, then off to Ide to Peter Cloke's residence for a barbeque. What a splendid afternoon! A fantastic venue second only to Killerton Gardens, and a spectacular view. The house and garden are built on the site of the Teign Valley Station in Ide, indeed, when Peter was having an extension built recently, the excavations revealed the sleepers.

The Fat PigAfter a brief rest, "The Killerton Boys were out on the P*** again" and found themselves in the bar at the Fat Pig! (Why aren't there pubs like that near me?)

A swift half (or two) and on to the Ganges. Not quite the same as we remember it! Very "nice". The food was very good, and, of course, the company was excellent. But no flock wallpaper, and none of the stainless steel bowls.

Some did manage another pint in the Hole in the Wall, whilst others retired for bed.

Sunday breakfast and home for the most, Charles,  Gem, Chris and I stayed on for another quiet evening with a meal and a glass or wine at Bills.
