I started my teaching career at Kingsholm Secondary, Gloucester (opposite the rugby ground) and then moved into the Forest of Dean, to the then Abenhall Secondary that became Dene Magna Comprehensive School in 1985 and I became Head in 1988.

I stayed there as Head for 12 years before having to retire with a health problem.

I was on the same site for 32 years.

I later did increasing part-time consultancy work for a private educational firm in Bristol (TLO) before deciding to take up golf in 2006 at the age of 60.  I was Seniors’ Captain at South Herefordshire Golf Club in 2010 and play off 15.

I live in Ross-on-Wye and would welcome news of/contact with any of my era.

Along the way I’ve re-married and much of our time is taken up with our 9 grandchildren/step-grandchildren.  I have one son who manages a recruitment firm in Fleet Street and another who is a Xerox Manager in Dubai. So I get to play the championship courses there every February.

I go to the Millennium Stadium to support Wales whenever I can get a ticket and I’m also a long-term Liverpool FC supporter..
